Make a list of all the characters in your icons. (Although you may have more than one icon of a single character, they only go on the list once.) Alphabetize it. Take the first two people on the list; that's your first pairing. Second two people; second pairing. Etc.
Cracks knuckles... this is sorted by last names (if character has one) and I've got some odd results...
Fujimiya Aya/Genjo Sanzo - that is some angry, hot sex waiting there
Harano Sakura/Lisa Hawkeye - right pinkie, time to teach you how to be an effective she-warrior
Hidaka Ken/Himura Kenshin - let me show you how to stop killing people in twelve easy steps
Maes Hughes/Kudoh Yohji - flowers and photos???
Roy Mustang/Rosalia the Magdelena - the pair of them working together really could take over a country...
Sha Gojyo/Smaug - look, I've already got a dragon in my life
Trinity/Tsukionko Omi - he met her in the Matrix
